The main aim of the youth ministry is the integral development of personality. It is achieved when a person gradually combines faith and everyday life. This process is regarded as a daily choice of young people to follow Jesus Christ while orientating their lives according to the values of the Kingdom and, consequently, finding their particular vocation in the Church and the world. The concept of following Christ is based on the first disciples’ experience while living with Christ as well as their life in the first community as presented in the Gospels and the Acts. For a long time doctrinal or objectivistic model was used in the process of youth ministry. This opted for the transmission of the content of doctrine, which was defined using precise linguistic formulae and supported with the arguments of apologetic nature. Today subjectivism prevails in the society; thus, such model does not work, as young people do not understand the objectivistic point of view. In the development of faith, as in any other form of education, personal experiences and discoveries of young people play a very important role. It has been noticed that a narrative mode is much more acceptable for young people. A narrative mode can evangelize their experiences, as well as provide a possibility to interpret them in the light of faith. The reason why the model of the disciples is gaining importance in modern socio-cultural context is that Jesus meets the disciples in their everyday life situations, knows and addresses each of them personally, travels together with them and, finally, commissions them to travel alone after their faith is transformed. We analyse the way of the disciples of Jesus in response to the challenges of the modern epoch and in an attempt to find a normative christocentric model for youth evangelization.[...].
