Abstract (en)
The article ele discusses the image of W. Shakespeare and its theatrical meanings in the works of K. Ostrauskas (1926-1912), Lithuanian emigre playwright. ln Ostrauskas' plays theatre is one of the most importam cultural signs that embodies the complex relationship between real and unreal, serious and light. Shakespeare is showed as a multidimensional theatrical figure, which encourages to consider such questions relevant to postmodernism as the "death" of the author, and the relations between his creative works and reality.
