Singing is the leading and one of the most favourite musical acitivities of children. The process of intonation for children is closely linked to the features of the development of musical hearing. The present article is concerned with the features of the development of 6-8 year -old children's pitch hearing in its manifestations in relatio to one-voice melody. 6-8 year-old children's pitch (melodic) hearing develops in onotgenesis as one integrative system, which is characterized by the interaction of perceptual and reproductive components. Development of children's musical hearing (and especially the melodic) hearing develops in ontogenesis as one integrative system, which is charcterized by the interaction of perceptual and reproductive components. Development of children's musical hearing (and especially the melodic hearing) greatly depens on the purposefulness and organization of those types of musical activities, which in this case are a priority. 6-8 year-old children's hearing is mostly tonal and the ability of coordinating hearing and voice is quite underdeveloped: the majoriy of children are still not able to control and mange their vocal apparatus.
