The purpose was to investigate the aspects of health locus of control and level of anxiety of adolescents in relation to their academic achievements. Methods: 1) K. Wallston (1978) Multidimensional health locus of control scale (MHLC); 2) O. Kondash (1973) Scale of anxiety. Investigated: Year 2003: 703 children; year 2008: 596 adolescents (13-18 years old). There was found a negative correlation between adolescent's anxiety experienced at school and their academic achievements. The higher anxiety level adolescents experience at school, the higher are the dimensions of health locus of control: chance and powerful others. In today's school there is noticed a higher level of anxiety, especially among girls and adolescents living in one-parent families.
