Abstract (en)
The secondary name phrases are a peculiar kind of attributive phrases. An attribute (opposition) expressed by a correlated a noun, indicating a secondary name to a person or thing, which may be profession (siuvėjas Šimkūnas), a post or degree (seniūnas Dauba, docentas Valatka), kinship (brolis Jonas), nationality (rusai mokslininkai), social position (tarnaitė Ieva), a name of a broader class of things to the principal, more concrete name (žurnalas „Moteris“). The apposition partly reiterates the function of the qualifying word, but simultaneously indicates its feature.
