Abstract: The purpose of this article is to evaluate the impact of climate change on visual and religious signs and to discuss the prospects of education. The focus of our discus¬sion is the concepts of religion and artistic education, including art-like phenomena and conceiving these phenomena in the natural environment. The article provides the reflection of human dependence on the effects of climate change throughout the long history of art, where the synthetic contents of religion and art remind of our fragile dependence on the natural reality. The relation of living beings with the environment is viewed systematically, covering all the spheres (atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, cryosphere and biosphere). Moreover, teachers' and students' value-based orientations towards the major causes of climate change (astronomic, geo-physical, internal climate alterations, atmospheric composition and anthropogenic) were viewed. The possibility of increasing the role of artistic and religious appreciation in the education of environmental awareness is the key aspect of this approach. Theoretical considerations are illustrated by both the pictures of students and the results of empirical research in value-based attitudes of primary school teachers and students of 9-12th classes
