Abstract: Currently, the complex of vitamins, minerals and amino acids „Vitiron" is widely applied in the training of high performance athletes. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of the complex of vitamins, minerals and amino-acids „Vitiron" on the body of high performance female handball players, their physical and functional capacity. The sample of the research included 14 female handball players from „Eglė-Šviesa" team. The team are champions of Lithuania and participate in international competitions. The athletes in the research used the complex of vitamins, minerals and amino acids „Vitiron" for 20 days in the springtime. The parameters of female handball players' physical development, single muscular contraction power, psychomotor reaction time, anaerobic alactic muscle power, and 10-second maximum intensity veloergometric test, mixed anaerobic alactic glycolytic power, functional capacity of cardiovascular system also blood haemoglobin concentration and its hematocrit were measured. There was a slight change in the fat mass of the athletes after a 20-day intake of the complex of vitamins, minerals and amino acids and the muscle mass showed an upward tendency. A significant increase in anaerobic alactic muscle power was recorded. The complex of vitamins, minerals and amino acids „Vitiron" used for 20 days increased anaerobic alactic glycolytic power of female handball players. The food supplement „Vitiron" had a positive effect on the functional capacity of athletes' biood circulatory system. The complex of vitamins, minerals and amino acids used for 20 days had no statistically significant effect on haemoglobin concentration in the athletes' blood
