Abstract: The article treats the main aspects of the development of the Polish modernist novel. It reveals some significant models of the modernist novel that are related to the works of Zeromski, Przybyszewski, Berent and Izykowski. The contexts of Russian and West European literatures have been investigated. There appears a dominant relationship between Polish literary tradition, Russian and that of Western Europe. Thus, it presents a perspective for the analysis of the raised problem
