Abstract: The author notices dependence of the usage of short and long forms of adjectives on the category of definiteness / indefiniteness. The anaphoric definiteness can be considered as one of the meanings of definiteness expressed by long forms of adjective. A special case of the anaphoric definiteness is so-called „aforementionedness“. The real for the use of the long form of adjective is the need to identify an object and not a repetition of the word in the text
