Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of potassium bicarbonate on proline and sugars content in green millet during waterlogging stress. The experiments were carried out in the Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology of Aleksandras Stulginskis University in 2014-2015. Waterlogging regime significantly increased the amount of sugars and proline in green millet plants. Investigated concentration of potassium bicarbonate significantly reduced the amount of proline after 24 and 72 hours of waterlogging. Potassium bicarbonate increased sugars content in green millet plants after 24 hours of waterlogging, but decreased after 72 hours of waterlogging
