This research was carried out on a 1,4 hectare area that was being by „Pilviškių grūdai.“ This area is located in the municipality of Elektrėnai, in the village of Pakalniškės. The evaluation of the effect of different soil tillage on spring rape crop took place between the years of 2014–2015. Field experiment treatments: 1. Conventional ploughing at the depth of 23–25 cm; 2. Shallow ploughing at the depth of 12–15 cm; 3. Shallow loosening at the depth of 8–10 cm. The research focused on the number and mass of short-living and perennial weeds in spring rape crop before harvesting. Results show that changing deep ploughing to reduced tillage decrease amounts of short-living weeds, although the mass of them was higher. The most perennial weeds were found in the fields where soil was shallow plowed.
