Abstract

The article analyses 65 social groups of agronomy researchers that were active in Lithuania in 1946–2003. The biggest groups were organized in the Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture by research advisers, professors: B. Baginskas – 34, J. Kriščiūnas – 32, A. Stancevičius – 24, V. Čaikauskas – 16, V. Ruokis – 13, J. Bulavas – 12, K. Bėčius – 10 members; in the Lithuanian Research Institute of Agriculture by advisers, professors: J. Monstvilaitė – 27, A. Tindžiulis – 19, J. Lazauskas – 17, L. Kadžiulis – 16, P. Vasinauskas – 15 members and others. 11 habilitated doctors were trained in the social group of professor J. Kriščiūnas, 4 in the social group of professor A. Stancevičius, and 3 in two social groups of professors J. Lazauskas and P. Vasinauskas. Data of science metrics confirm the statement that the social groups of agronomy researchers advised by professors J. Kriščiūnas, P. Vasinauskas, A. Stancevičius and J. Lazauskas can be declared as agronomy science schools in Lithuania.
