Abstract

The series of articles gives the new information about the history of agronomy science development in Lithuania. The main goal of publications is to identify agronomy science schools in 1946–2003. The article analyses the scientists who had re - search advisers from other republics of the former Soviet Union in 1952–1992. Their theses were prepared and defended in research adviser’s country. Three social groups of researchers were active in the Lithuanian Research Institute of Agriculture under supervision of professors from other republics: in phytopathology – prof. N. Guseva from Russian SSRF, in vegetable selection and seed-growing – prof. L. Meshcherov from Russian SSRF, and in vegetable-growing – prof. V. Brizgalov from Byelorussian SSR.
