Abstract: The series of articles gives the new information about the his - tory of agronomy science development in Lithuania. The main goal of publications is to identify agronomy science schools in 1946–2003. The article analyses the scientists who had re - search advisers from other republics of the former Soviet Un - ion in 1952–1992. Their theses were prepared and defended in research adviser’s country. Three social groups of research - ers were active in the Lithuanian Research Institute of Agri - culture under supervision of professors from other republics: in phytopathology – prof. N. Guseva from Russian SSRF, in vegetable selection and seed-growing – prof. L. Meshcherov from Russian SSRF, and in vegetable-growing – prof. V. Briz - galov from Byelorussian SSR
