Abstract: The problem of food wasting is causing a lot of difficulties in the world, especially for economic, social and environmental systems. Various raw material and natural sources are used for preparing food for humans, unfortunately more and more food is wasted every year. Depending on the development level of the country, the amount of wasted food is different. In developing countries more food is wasted in early stages of food supply chain, while in advanced counties most of the food is wasted in last stages of food supply chain, especially in households. The main goal is to reduce the amount of food wasted in households, because the following causes provokes food wasting in households: food consumption culture, affection of the living area, policy of food retail markets and psychological aspects of consumers
