Investment funds are becoming more attractive investment opportunity because it is formed from a variety of financial instruments. That reduces the risk due to the diversification and increases return, because the investors make much less investment transactions. Investment funds have become very popular among investors who have little knowledge of investment management and whom are difficult to invest directly, as, for example, to purchase any shares or bonds. Such investors choose investment funds because they are managed by professional money managers. In the article the technique and interpretation of Sharpe, Sortino, Treynor and Jensen alfa are presented as well as the measurement of variables necessary for calculation of these ratios.
