The purpose. To find out qualitative performance indicators and power requirement for corn grain crushing by two pairs of rolls crusher. Methods. Experimental trials were performed using two pairs of rolls crusher while varying feed rate of corn grains and distance between the upper rolls. The quality of crushed corns has been evaluated through use of sieves by distributing crushed corn grains in 6 fractions depending on their particle size. The supply network power analyzer was used to find out the actual demand for power required for rotation of operating parts of the crusher. Results. The humidity of corn grains has been measured before and after the crushing, dimensions of corn grains have been measured and statistically evaluated, fractional composition of crushed corn grain mass was found depending on the their feed rate and distance between the upper rolls. The power requirement for rotation of rolls was measured under different feed rates of corn grains. Conclusions. Experimental investigations showed that the two pairs of rolls crusher is suitable for crushing corn grains. Variation of the corn grains’ feed rate to the mill-crusher, results in varied fractional composition of the crushed corn grain mass. Increase in corn grains’ feed rate causes relative power amount required for rotation of crusher rolls to decrease following power function.
