The monitoring of woodpeckers was conducted in the forests in middle of Lithuania lowland between spring of 2010 and spring of 2013. Observations were done in 33 different places. The research found seven woodpeckers species - Black woodpecker (D. martius.), Grey-headed woodpecker (P. canus), Great spotted woodpecker (D.major), Middle spotted woodpecker (D.medius), Lesser spotted woodpecker (D.minor), White-backed woodpecker (D. leucotos.) and Three-toed woodpecker (P.tridactylus). It is found that the increasing numbers were estimate of black woodpecker, grey-headed woodpecker and lesser spotted woodpecker populations compared data of studies in 2002 – 2004 and in 2010 -2013. It is found that the decreasing numbers were estimate of Great spotted woodpecker, Green woodpecker, Middle spotted woodpecker, White-backed woodpecker and Three-toed woodpecker populations compared data of studies in 2002 – 2004 and in 2010 -2013.
