The article presents the production methods of biolubcricants, examination of tribological properties, and discusses the obtained results of examination. The processes of oleic acid esterification with 1,2-propanediol, seeking to select the most efficient biocatalyst (lipase), were performed. The highest efficiency in esterification reaction was typical to enzyme preparation Lipolase 100L. The optimum conditions for esterification reaction were obtained by using the catalyst Lipolase 100L: at the temperature of 33 °C, when the duration of reaction is 3,64 h, the molar ratio of oleic acid and 1.2-propanedioi - 1:3,72, while enzyme quantity - 1,84 % (of oleic acid quantity). Physical, chemical and tribological properties of lubricant were examined. It was determined that the obtained product 1,2-propanediol oleate is characterized by lower friction torque than mineral oil.
