Abstract: The article presents the bench test results of one cylinder, air cooled direct injection diesel engine operating on neat rapeseed oil obtained for various fuel delivery advance angles. It was determined that the brake specific fuel consumption reduced by 4.3 % when operatin at 2.5° retarded rapeseed oil delivery angle against that of recommended by the manufacture. In this case however the brake specific fuel consumption was 9.0 % higher when running at a fully opened troutle. The CO emission increased by 50 % responding to the fuel delivery angle returned by 3.7°
