Abstract: Investigations were carried out during 2012–2013 in the laboratory of Agrobiotechnology of Aleksandras Stulginskis University. The effect of culture media and growth regulators on callus induction in hemp was investigated. The current study indicates that there is a strong medium composition effect on callus induction from stem segments. For cultivation of stem segments in MS medium, it must be supplemented by 1.0 mg l-1 KIN + 0.5 mg l-1 NAA. On the B5 and White media without growth regulators callus formation frequency was 100 % and 58.33 % respectively. From tested media most intensive callus genesis was observed on B5 medium
