Abstract: The goal of the study is to investigate physical properties of briquettes, wich are made in Lithuania from different wood spiecies and their mixtures. This work presented the results that were made testing sawdust briquettes calorific value, strength, moisture content and ash content. Explored sawdust briquettes is in line with European standards requirements. Studies have shown that the most calorific is oak's sawdust briquettes. Making the test's for the mechanical durability of the briquettes it was concluded that briquettes can withstand the pressure from 211 N/mm2 to 843 N/mm2. Withstand the maximum force hardwood briquettes, bricks form - 5241 N oak briquettes and cylindrical -5228 N. According to survey data the hignest moisture is in oak briquettes - 8.50%, and the lowest is in hardwood briquettes - 6.80%. In assessing the moisture content of briquettes so that they meet the requirements of production. Compared by briquette standards
