Abstract: Bioethanol is most often used as a motor fuel, mainly as a biofuel additive for gasoline. The experimental of petroleum and bioethanol blends result show that the consumption decreases on the average by 6% at light load and 2% at medium load compared to normal Otto engine running at all speeds. The harmful CO emission was reduced from 2.8 % to 0.5% by the increased amount of bioethanol on the blend from 10% (E10) to 85% (E85). The emission of unburned hydrocarbons HC was reduced twice - fould when running on blend E85 compared with petroleum fuel case
