It has been defined in the Energy Law and the National Strategy of Energetics of the Republic of Lithuania (RL). The Energy Law sets the objectives of regulating energetics activities and promotion of local and renewable energy sources and the National Strategy of Energetics focuses on the importance of developing the use of renewable and local energy sources.
