Abstract: The abjective of the investigation is thermal energy storage using the phase change material (calcium chloride hexahydrate) for air heating. The experimental investigations were carried out. The results of the investigation showed that the amount of stored thermal energy in capsules of calcium chloride hexahydrate (the diameter of which is 21 mm) when temperature is changing from 15 to 33° C and the index of close-set capsules is 30%, reaches 92.3MJ/m³. It was established the melting time of the heat storage charge these capsules
