Abstract: The objective of the investigation is thermal energy storage using the phase change material for air heating. The results of the experimental investigation showed that the amount of stored thermal, energy in capsules of calcium chloride hexahydrate (the diameter of capsules is 21 mm), when temperature is changing from 15 to 33° C and the index of close-set of capsules is 30%, reaches 92.3 MJ/m³, i. e. about 4.65 times more than granite macadam. It was established the melting time of the heat storage charge these capsules
