Abstract: The article analyzes the Tribological reliability of the friction pair shaft - seal when a shaft surface is coated with different coatings (chrome, chrome coating + fluorine oligomeric coating). Experimental studies have been conducted at the test stand, specifically constructed for this friction pair. Research methodology to this construction, detailed scheme of the test cell and the weared material volume calculations. The final part discusses the test results and conclusions are presented. In conclusions stated that the shaft with the FOLEOX coating was worn 4,07 times less, because FOLEOX reduces the friction coefficient. Also, attrition is noticed smoother
