Studies carried out in the Centre of Agroecology of the Aleksandras Stulginskis University on the influence of spraying organic winter barley seeds with biological preparations Biokal 1, Biokal 2, Biojodis and Penergetic-p for roots on seed germination power, viability, damages by pathogens as well as shoot, root and seed diseases, it was found that spraying with Biojodis at 2 l t-1 has considerably increased germination power and viability. The most effective protection against winter barley seed pathogens demonstrated chemical treatment Raxil 060FS. The best at protecting organic winter barley seeds was growth stimulator Penergetic-p for roots, its biological efficiency against fusariosis, alternariosis comprised respectively 100 and 48.7 per cent, however, it was inefficient against important for barley pathogen Drechslera spp. Penergetic-p for roots was efficient protecting barley shoots and roots against the agents of root diseases, however, it had no major influence on seed damages by pathogens. Spraying of winter barley seeds with Biokal 2 has essentially reduced the damages of barley shoots and roots by pathogens (28.0 and 26.0 %), and seeds were also the least damaged (68.0 %) by pathogens. Both shoots and roots against root diseases as well as seeds against contamination by pathogens were best protected with synthetic treatment Raxil 060FS. Biokal 2, Penergetic-p for roots and Biojodis have essentially reduced the spreading of fungal diseases in the coleoptyles of winter barley shoots. The intensity of shoot damages by root diseases in organic winter barley decreased from 0.14 to 0.30 per cent. Although the agents of fungal diseases were more widespread in the roots of barley than in the shoots, but application of Biokal 1, Biokal 2 and Penergetic-p for roots has essentially reduced the intensity of the diseases.
