Author presented a research in which 83 rural women were interviewed on their social and psychological problems. Most of respondents live in villages and rural areas of Lithuania, their age from 60 till 94 years, they are retired, the main reason of retairement - the age for pension. They live with extended families, most of them dependent on their personal children; 14% of them feel better then when they were working. Women maintain the belief that life is meaningful and worthwhile staying at home, beeing sick. 43% of them participated in rural community's everyday activities- travel together, are socially active and gave social support for each other and other retired lonely community members. Respondents try to stay physicaly active - work in the garden, help for their children. The research showed that despite the changes that occur with aging, most of respondents are satisfied with their common activities, rural life-style. This satisfaction is closely related with conditional financial securaty and physical health.
