Abstract: The investigations of the winterhardiness of winter wheat cultivar 'Ada' were carried out at the Experimental Station of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture in 2010. Soil IDg8-k (LVG-pw-cc) - carbonate shallow glacious (Calc (or) i Epihypogleyic Luvisol). The content of photosynthetic pigments, saccharides and phenols was estimated in plants of winter wheat 'Ada'. The investigations showed that the highest sugar content (443.2 mg g"1) in plants was in November, and, since January, when outdoor temperatures felt, the sugar content decreased up to 80.0-149.9 mg g . The biggest amount of photosynthetic established during the autumn-winter season, and photosynthetic productivity was lowest in early spring
