The research was conducted at the pomological garden of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture in 2010. The objective of the research was to explore the black currant bud harvest. Five selected varieties of black currants were chosen for the studies: Vakariai, Zagadka, Čiornyj ŽemČiug, Bagira, and Zelionyj Mys. It has been found: the number of one-year shoots in the plant, the overall increase in the bush, the average shoot length, the average number of buds on a shoot, the average intemodal length, the average weight of bud, bud yield per plant. The most abundant buds yield (14.6 g), the largest buds (0.038 g), the largest number of perennial shoots (29.8), and total shrub growth (22.01 m) was for 'Zelionyj Mys' currant. Differences between the varieties are determined by genetic characteristics of the varieties.
