Abstract: The aim of our investigation was to determine diameters of chicories roots, influence for chicons yield and choose the optimal mediums for chicories' chicons', that certain fertilization system for intensively grown chicories and good productivity quality. Investigations carried out in department of Horticulture of LUA in 2010-2011. The biggest total (36,9 kg m-2) and standard (29,4 kg m-2) yield got chicories chicons, that grown in the peats. The biggest amount of dry matter got of chicories, that grown in the sawdust. The biggest amount of ascorbic acid got chicories, that grown in the water and peats. The largest amount of potassium got of chicories, that grown in the peats, The smallest amount of nitrates got of chicories, that grown in the water
