Abstract (en)
The article introduces with the structure and the extent of mathematics-related subjects that are taught at Lithuanian University of Agriculture the Department of Mathematics and Informatics. Moreover, it presents the main problems of teaching Mathematics and analyzes mathematical preparedness of first-year students. Several methods that are applied by the Department of Mathematics and Informatics to increase the level of students' mathematical preparedness and to improve the process of studies are dealt with in the article. Furthermore, the methodology of teaching Mathematics effectively is described in this article.
