Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the catering waste composition and possibility to process into biogas and to determine energy potential. Investigations were carried out on a laboratory biogas reactor.It was investigated that processed food waste had high dry matter content - 23,61% and organic matter - 94,21%. During anaerobic digestion was received biogas yield from raw material - 233 m3/kg, from dry matter - 944 m3/kg and from organic matter - 1002 m3/kg. Biogas had 61,5 % methane concentration. The energy potential of tested food waste was 5,1 MJ/kg of raw material
