Abstract: Mechanical characteristics, including hardness, indentation and friction behaviour of the fluor-oligomeric FOLEOX coat were investigated. Scratch adhesion testing and friction tests disc - on - disc was performed. Results show that the fluor-oligomeric Gun is porous and adhesive to the worn surface. The fluor-oligomer tre¬atment decreases the micro-hardness of solid body; modifies the contact rheology by reducing the shearing force at the local contact, facilitating sliding and decreasing the damage due to plastic deformation
