Abstract: Territory planning is one of the first works preserving and using the underground resources. Possibilities to properly use underground resources depend, upon the quality of the fulfilment of these works. Mineral resources occupy significant part in the national property of the state and should be properly recorded, protected, rationally used, their territories should be properly planned and society should he acquainted with the problems of the use of mineral resources. Only with reliable information on the Underground resources, their use, processes and problems occurring in them it is possible to properly improve their territory planning. The Lithuanian Geological Survey under the Ministry of Environment manages the Registry of the underground resources, disposes of the entire information on the mineral resources and renders it to all wishing physical and juridical persons according to the order set by laws. Besides, this geological survey summarizes the data on mineral resources, compiles state maps of mineral resources at scales M 1:200 000 and M 1:50 000, carries out the analysis of the use of mineral resources. As it is declared in the Law on the restoration of citizens' ownership lights to the extant realty, the land in the territory of the unexploited deposits of located mineral resources is relumed to citizens for the limited purposive use. The territories of exploited deposits of mineral resources are attributed to the state redeemable land. Fallowing the Law on the land reform it was determined that land cannot be non-privatised, if there are mineral resources in the territory of exploited deposits. These teritories are marked in the plans of the state redeemable and non-privatised land.[...]
