Abstract: The analysis of breakdown in the Trakai 10 kV electrical network was made. The condition of used elements was investigated. The analysis of breakdown in the combinative air lines and cable lines was made. The stochastic over voltage parameters were calculated. The highest level of the over voltages is ascertained experimentally, using special recorders or carrying out some calculations and modeling of transition processes for the different modes of the net with isolated neutral network. The break-down in the electrical network depends on used protection, it is importantiy for the protection against lightning and commutation over voltages to use the voltage limiters which protects without switching-off from the net, efficiency of lightning safety in the electrical lines, electromagnetic characteristics of the net, location of the limiters and dischargers in the net, quality and electric characteristics of the limiters and dischargers, the experiment voltage level in the electric equipments of the substation, homogeneity and durability of the electrical net
