Abstract (en)
This paper reviews the history of remote sensing and GIS applications in Lithuanian forestry. Aerial photography up to date remains the main source of remotely sensed information. A method for manual interpretation of aerial photographs is discussed in more details. Interpretation is understood as an objective process, based on statistical assessments. Some possible trends in development of remote sensing are presented as well.
