Abstract: Analytic and experimental research showed that the stability of threaded joints’ tightening and their efficiency depend on the initial joint stretching and its scatter. To make an initial stretch the junction stretching moment is needed, the largest numerical values of which are limited by geometrical, technological, and mechanical characteristics of the elements. It was estimated that the magnitude of the maximum threaded joint stretching moment using the same fixing element may vary up to 68%, and up to 13.2% if compared to the maximum permissible values indicated in the standard documents
