Abstract
During 1997-1998 experiments on the improvement of pea growing technology were carried out on the plain of the Nemunas lower reaches in Klausutchiai, Jurbarkas district. Experimental evidence suggests that peas have to be sown at a rate of 0.8-1.0 million seeds per ha at the 4.0-6.0 cm depth the first ten-day period of May. Under optimum conditions the yield increases up to (6.06-6.57 t/ha) when increasing fertiliser rates to P180K270. Additional fertilization (norm N-60) was effective at the budding stage of peas.
