Shallow wells are usually not deep and water pass hem from shallow resources of the groundwater, therefore the indwater is especially sensitive to chemical and robiological pollution. Research carried out during 1998 - 8. The subject research is water of the shallow wells. Analysis he shallow well water quality has been carried out in 10 nties of 2809 the shallow wells. Wells situated in Pypliai ige have been chosen for more detailed examination. GIS iram ArcView was used for simulation and evaluation of ite pollution dispersion in the terrain, as well as relief maps of ility scaling Ml: 10 000 were used, which were transferred into ial to prepare digital relief map. The movement of ground er was simulated by computer program modeling WinFlow, rating in Windows environment, and groundwater simulation cm GMS 4.0. Analytical means of the model simulate the two- ensional steady or changeable water movement in the ground at horizontal plane. The following analytical elements are bated: wells (pumping), even replenishment, closed systems of iroishment - extraction, linear the groundwater replenishment rces and recipients. Having investigated the water quality in 10 Lithuanian counties it was determined that the majority of wells are bced by nitrates and organic substances. In Pypliai village in district, the value of the shallow well water nitrate median number of wells polluted by the nitrates varies between 60 Bngl'1 ,39 - 66 % and there is no statistically reliable kacy of decrease or increase; nitrite concentration median - not teasing, and the number of wells polluted by the nitrites (R2 = 0, 27). Ammonium ions concentration median is loBcig (R2 = 0, 30), the number of shallow wells the water of et polluted by the ammonium ions is increasing (R2 = 0, 24).[...]
