In the present article A. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is reviewed with two viewpoints: critical and supportive. A detailed comparative analysis of the scientific literature revealed advantages and disadvantages ot this theory. The subject of study in this article is hierarchy of needs both from structural and functional aspects and it’s validity of this theory for employees’ motivation researches. Comparative analysis on personal and organizational values congruence and A. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs has shown that certain values can be grouped by meaning and sense with the groups of needs singled out by A. Maslow. Interfaces of hierarchy of needs with personal and organizational values have been established and relevance of the needs pyramid as well as personal and organizational value congruence blocks to the person is grounded. After having grouped values and needs it has been proved that hierarchy of needs is applied practically.
