The aim of the research is to assess the efficiency of long-term investment strategies in the context of economic cycle changes in Baltic and Poland stock markets. In the first part of the article the analysis and the results of relative research papers are summarized. In the second part the authentic methodology is detailed. In the last third part of the article the main findings that 52 weeks-high investment strategy is only effective in Baltic stock market are revealed and evaluated. In the context of economic cycle the empirical examination of historical stock prices revealed that investment portfolios of Baltic and Poland stock markets performed differently: the return in Baltic market is positive but negative in Poland. Additionally, it is measured that actively managed portfolio is more profitable than passive. Finally, the results are helpful to variety of investors to ease their long run investment decisions.
