Nowadays entrepreneurship is a key driver of our economy. Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small businesses started by entrepreneurially minded individuals. Though, the discussions of entrepreneurship development and education are arising. Entrepreneurship education is a lifelong learning process, starting as early as elementary school and progressing through all levels of education, including adult education. Taking into account the universities’ responsibilities for developing students’ entrepreneurship, it is important to identify if universities are enough prepared to develop it and what kind of support it provides for entrepreneurship development. The problem arises: what kind of entrepreneurship centres are working in Lithuania and if there is the need of students and business for entrepreneurship development and education. The aim of the article is to analyse the necessity of entrepreneurship (development) centres for students and business. In the article there was analysed scientific literature of entrepreneurship, briefly defined the entrepreneurship conception. The overview of Lithuanian entrepreneurship centres was made. Ultimately there was identified the need of entrepreneurship development and education for students. Methods: analyses of scientific literature, questionnaire-based survey.
