Career development is an integral part of human resources management, when such factors as self – analysis, professional consultation for the development of knowledge and skills at all levels of employees are accentuated. Employees’ ability to behave according to the norms of etiquette and their personal qualities are very important dimensions of career development in organizations. There is a great difference between a modern society and a former closed ruling European aristocratic society, however, we have to admit that adequate manners help establish good relationships and make career. Organizations not only offer their services, but also form opinions about them what is very important in a modern competitive and changing environment. Business etiquette is a valuable quality and this is very much in demand in the job market nowadays. The aim of the article – to define business etiquette as an instrument for career development, to introduce the results of the pilot research about the need of knowledge of business etiquette in organizations. Objectives – to present the analysis of scientific literature about employees’ business etiquette; to carry out pilot research into the importance of employees’ business etiquette for career development; to formulate recommendations for the education system of andragogues. Articles discusses about the concept of business etiquette, its main criteria such as: appropriate appearance, adequate behaviour, body language, good image and etc. A comparative analysis about business etiquette understanding in Lithuanian and French organizations is introduced. Methodology of the research.
