Abstract: Management of rural development support from the European Agriculture Guidance and Guarantee Fund systems that are allocated to administer compensatory and investment parts of support, were analyzed. Rural development policy's principles and priorities were reviewed and prospective changes of the financial perspective of the period of the year 2007-2013 were discussed as well. Structure and functions of the institutions of Lithuania responsible for the management of the European rural development measures were also discussed.
