Ensuring coherent professional vocation discovery helps to diminish the contradiction between the requirements set for labour market employee (objective aspect of profession) and personality skills, expectations and needs in the professional activity (subjective aspect of profession). The article searches the assumptions how to discover the professional vocation in the context of personality education. The concept of career planning education is introduced. The functions of career planning education are described. The main vocational decision elements are defined. Characteristics of rational occupational choice are introduced. Conclusions of this theoretical research are presented.
