Abstract: Šiame straipsnyje pristatomas paaugliško egocentrizmo fenomenas bei ji sudarantys komponentai, taip pat siekiama palyginti berniukii ir mergaiiiii egocentrizmo komponentus ir ju paplitim^ skirtingo amziaus paaugliij grupéje. Tyrime dalyvavo 152 tiriamieji, besimokantys VI, IX ir XI klasèse. PaaugliSkas egocentrizmas buvo vertinamas anketa, sudaryta iS triJLt D. K. Lapsley sukurti¡ skaliii: naujosios isivaizduojamos auditorijos skalès, naujosios asmeninio mito skalès, asmeninio unikalumo skalès.
In this article we represent the phenomena of adolescent egocentrism with its containing components. The aim of this study was to investigate the changes of adolescent egocentrism and its constructs correlation with age and sex during adolescence. 152 participants from VI, IX and XI grades were asked to fill the questionnaire containing three subscales made by D. K. Lapsley: New Imaginary Audience Scale, New Personal Fable Scale and Personal Uniqueness Scale. Results of the study show that, as expected, 6''' grade girls scored higher in Imaginary Audience Scale than boys. Personal fable construct was more common among 9"" grade boys. The study show significant correlation between omnipotence and age. 9"' graders scored higher in omnipotence then 6''' graders. Latter omnipotence stayed in the same level. Using cluster analysis two clusters were found (groups of adolescents who in adolescent egocentrism scored significantly different). These results confirm that adolescent egocentrism is a unitary phenomena, because adolescents fall into two groups: the ones, who scored high in adolescent egocentrism (about 70 % of the population) and the ones, who scored low (about 30 %). Results of this study confirm most of earlier empirical researches. It also confirms the "new look" to adolescent egocentrism, because the results show some significant sex differences, which are better explained by the mentioned theory
