The NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence was established this year on 10 July in Vilnius. Establishment documents were signed at the NATO Transformation Command Post in Norfolk (USA) by Deputy General NATO Forces Commander for Transformation, General M. Bieniek and military representatives from Lithuania, Italy, Latvia and Turkey. France and Estonia are completing internal authorization procedures and will sign the establishment documents shortly. The USA plans to join just after the Centre’s accreditation procedures are completed, Norway and Great Britain plan to participate in its activity by sending experts for the implementation of concrete projects. It is expected that in the future Poland and maybe some other NATO member states will join the Centre’s activity in some capacity.
