Education may have a significant impact for building a sense of community at school. Nowadays in postmodern world, where we are experiencing various changes, individuals’ alienation and some forms of social exclusion are noticed in communities and in school. Cohesive community at school affects children‘s learning achievements and behavior positively. So the creation a sense of community at school becomes one of the most important issues in nowadays schools. According to Graue (2005) one of the most essential things for creating and developing community sense at school is for teachers to possess a positive attitude toward families and the family–school relationship process. Epstein (1995) identified six types of families’ involvement: parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, collaborating with community. School and family are the first child‘s education institutions, where child‘s personality starts to develop. It should be understood that school and family should cooperate, because as Dapkien (2002b, p.8) stated, „contemporary reality raises a lot of tasks and problems for school and family and these problems can be solved only by common eff070e growing problems and cannot transfer responsibility to each other...“. Family is one of the main actors of school community and in this article an attention is on family involvement and other educative strategies which can influence community sense creation and development at school.[...]
